2 gallons for the mash. I batch sparged with 3.5 gallons and did almost a 2 hour boil to get the total volume to around 2 gallons. My starter was a full quart so the primary volume was at 2.5 gallons. If I do it over I will for sure do a step mash, this stuff is CLOUDY from the golden promise and the oats.
