Ranger IPA (Clone)

tasting notes

Great Flavor, but I think of it as a light version of Ranger. Going to bump up the hops next time and the bittering hop in the beginning needs more punch.

There is a recipe for this in one of the recent issues of BYO.

I tried this recipe out and think that it is going to fail miserably. Is it just me, or is there way too much of a grain bill for an extract recipe? The bottling sample tasted way too malty and had a over powered grainy taste. Hope that it conditions out for the better in the next few weeks.

@tgconrad - Did you double pitch the yeast? I did and the beer finished very dry, the hops were pretty pronounced compared to the malt bill. I've updated the recipe a bit to bump up the hops and include more American 2-Row vs extract. I swear this was one of my most popular homebrews, it just needed more hops.

Something very clever (not to mention beery).
